Our Programs

Certificate in Theology is a one year program in Theology. The primary  aim of this programme is to bring theology to the non-expert. The laity and religious with no previous training in theology are the primary focus of this programme. Courses offered in the programme are therefore less technical and designed to respond to the pastoral needs of the participants.

Admission Requirements

1. Certificate of SSCE, GCE or WAEC with a minimum of 5 credits including English Language, mathematics, or one other science subject and Christian religious Knowledge(CRK)

2. 2 letters of recommendation.

Religious/Diocesan - One letter must be from major superior/bishop
Independent student, who was once in a major seminary - one letter must be from rector or a formator of former major seminary.
Independent student, who was never in a major seminary - one letter must be from a catholic priest.

    African is changing rapidly, and as in all changes, there are enormous challenges and opportunities. There is need for continuing discernment in order to determine what God is calling the churches in Africa to do and to become. Spiritans want to contribute to this search for the will of God in Africa and the wider world, through this program.This is a three years program, and it is equivalent to B.A in Theology.

    Admission Requirement

    2. Transcript of 3 or 4 year Diploma/degree in philosophy

    3. Certificate and transcript of any other degree acquired

    The school runs Master of Art program in Theology awarded by Duquesne University.
    The MA in Theology provides a graduate-level foundation in central areas of theology. The degree is especially appropriate for those who wish to teach theology at the secondary level or prepare for doctoral-level studies in theology. The curriculum is designed to equip students for more specialized study in systematic theology, moral theology, or Biblical theology at the doctoral level. Elective offerings allow students to pursue some degree of specialization, in consultation with his or her academic advisor, as is appropriate to his or her particular goals and interests.

    Admission Requirement
    A basic degree in theology/Religion, from an institution approved by the SIST Academic Board. The Candidate must have obtained at least a cum laude probates or a second class lower division pass or a B average in his/her previous degree.
